2025/26 Budget Process

School District No. 42 meets the learning needs of approximately 17,000 students of all ages in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows, and is defined by its determination to keep student learning and growth at the heart of all its decisions.

All decisions made by the Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows School District are guided by its vision and core values, and are based on research and consultation. Similarly, the district’s initiatives and resources are all aligned to support its firm commitment to continuous improvement, teaching and learning, effective use of technology, building and sustaining community and partner group relationships, and designing effective and sustainable support systems.

Note: Timing of meetings with the Indigenous Education Council presented in this timeline is tentative and may change once the Council has been established.

How to give feedback

An opportunity for public and partner group input to the Finance Committee of the Whole on the 2025/26 Proposed Preliminary Budget will be held at 6:00pm, April 23, 2025, at Thomas Haney Secondary, Room 2032 (Suddaby Room).

After the Proposed Preliminary Budget is released on April 16, groups or individuals who wish to present their views on this budget at the April 23 Finance Committee of the Whole meeting must register and provide any written submissions via email to budget@sd42.ca no later than noon on April 21. All submissions to the Board are considered public documents. The Board therefore reserves the right to make any submissions available to the public and to place them on the website.

Individuals who wish to share their views on the Proposed Preliminary Budget are also invited to participate in the online budget survey open from April 17 to 12:00 pm (noon) on April 23, 2025

The Board of Education will make their final deliberations and adopt the 2025/26 Preliminary Budget at the Public Board meeting scheduled for April 30.

The 2025/26 Proposed Preliminary Budget will be posted on the school district website (both on this page and on the Board Meeting Agendas page) on April 16, by 1:00 pm.
