Eva Funk is an outstanding leader at Whonnock. She is very mature and is always willing to help her community whenever she can. Eva often pops into the office to ask if she can assist with anything.
She is a very capable student who serves as a great role model to her younger siblings as well as the students at Whonnock. Her favourite memories of elementary school are the fun work she took on with her class and the outdoor education opportunities.
In high school, Eva wants to enter the international baccalaureate program so that she can enrich her education and get a jump start on her college learning. Her plans for the future are still in draft, but Eva can see herself becoming a lawyer, a nurse, a teacher or an engineer. What is the most important thing a kid should know? “How to have fun!” Eva replies.
About Leaders of Tomorrow
The Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows School District (SD42) has teamed up with the Maple Ridge News to celebrate local students who are making a difference at school and in the community. Elementary and secondary students featured as Leaders of Tomorrow were picked by their principals for making positive achievements in academics, sports, arts and community involvement.
The list is just a sample of outstanding students in the school district selected by their school during the 2018/19 school year – there are many others who were equally deserving of recognition for their exemplary achievements both inside and outside the classroom. Every Tuesday throughout the school year, SD42 will profile a student selected as one of the 2019 Leaders of Tomorrow.
