Becca Fiscu is most definitely a Leader of Tomorrow as she is already showing significant leadership qualities at school and in her community.
Becca has a rare combination of genuine empathy, kindness, and positivity that helps her stand out amongst her peers. She gives back to our school as an office, library, and classroom lunch monitor. In each of these roles she is always friendly and respectful, which helps put the students and adults she interacts with at ease very quickly.
She has also played on our ultimate, basketball, and volleyball teams where her enthusiasm and leadership was most appreciated.
Athletically, Becca’s abilities extend to 800m and shot put where she hopes to represent our school at the district track meet. Becca is also one of our District Student Advisory Council members where she represents our school and brings the district voice back to us.
In addition, Becca has volunteered within her community to help underprivileged people by preparing and delivering meals on weekends. As you can tell, Becca is a student on the go who has found a way to give back to her community while experiencing all that elementary school has to offer. We are all very proud of her!
About Leaders of Tomorrow
The Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows School District (SD42) has teamed up with the Maple Ridge News to celebrate local students who are making a difference at school and in the community. Elementary and secondary students featured as Leaders of Tomorrow were picked by their principals for making positive achievements in academics, sports, arts and community involvement.
The list is just a sample of outstanding students in the school district selected by their school during the 2017/18 school year – there are many others who were equally deserving of recognition for their exemplary achievements both inside and outside the classroom.
Every Tuesday throughout the school year, SD42 will profile a student selected as one of the 2018 Leaders of Tomorrow.
