Finnley Belsey was a Grade 7 French Immersion student at École Eric Langton Elementary during the 2017-18 school year. She is a dynamic citizen and an amazing leader at our school.
She has experienced academic success in all subject areas and she works hard to set and achieve her goals. Finley makes many worthwhile contributions to the school community: she is an excellent role model for grade six students, a Lunch Monitor in a Grade 1/2 class and a great big buddy for a student in kindergarten. She demonstrates excellent leadership skills in her own class as well. Finley is a member of DSAC and is actively involved in all school wide events.
Recently, she played the role of Banzai (a hyena) in the school’s musical production of The Lion King Jr. Big or small, Finnley doesn’t mind helping out with anything; she was backstage manager at our Christmas concert and said she would like to do it again. Finnley likes being in charge and is ready for the any challenge that comes her way. Her passion is to help others in need and she enjoys playing sports, including softball and basketball.
This year, she enjoyed being part of our school basketball team. Finnley is excited to go to high school to continue to pursue her passions by joining clubs and the basketball team. Finnley is respected as a difference-maker with an infectious smile. Given her leadership strengths and her optimistic outlook, we know she will continue to do amazing things in the community. Finnley Belsey is undoubtedly a Leader of Tomorrow.
About Leaders of Tomorrow
The Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows School District (SD42) has teamed up with the Maple Ridge News to celebrate local students who are making a difference at school and in the community. Elementary and secondary students featured as Leaders of Tomorrow were picked by their principals for making positive achievements in academics, sports, arts and community involvement.
The list is just a sample of outstanding students in the school district selected by their school during the 2017/18 school year – there are many others who were equally deserving of recognition for their exemplary achievements both inside and outside the classroom.
Every Tuesday throughout the school year, SD42 will profile a student selected as one of the 2018 Leaders of Tomorrow.
