Ryann attended Pitt Meadows Elementary during the 2016-17 school year.
Ryann exemplifies the essence of community in and out of the classroom at Pitt Meadows Elementary. Her commitment to the school is evident through her involvement in many activities, including Leadership Club, volunteering in the office on her own time at recess and lunch, spearheading the Dance Troop for the 2016 Terry Fox Run, and ensuring the organics bins are ready for pick up.
Ryann puts the needs of others before her own. She values and supports her peers on a daily basis and never hesitates to help out if she can. She is always ready to assist by offering directions, comfort and friendship. Empathy is an integral part of who Ryann is.
She is always, quietly and confidently, ensuring her peers are included and equal. Ryann shows us all what kindness, understanding and inclusion are about at Pitt Meadows Elementary.
About Leaders of Tomorrow
The Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows School District (SD42) has teamed up with the Maple Ridge News to celebrate local students who are making a difference at school and in the community. Elementary and secondary students featured as Leaders of Tomorrow were picked by their principals for making positive achievements in academics, sports, arts and community involvement.
The list is just a sample of outstanding students in the school district selected by their school during the 2016/17 school year – there are many others who were equally deserving of recognition for their exemplary achievements both inside and outside the classroom.
Every Tuesday throughout the school year, SD42 will profile a student selected as one of the 2017 Leaders of Tomorrow.
