The Honourable Judith Guichon, British Columbia’s Lieutenant Governor, visited Maple Ridge’s Albion Elementary on Wednesday to help celebrate the 150th anniversary of Canada’s Confederation.
To commemorate the historic anniversary, Guichon is visiting 150 schools across the province to have conversations with students about Canadian history, culture and achievements, and many other topics – including her role as B.C.’s Lieutenant Governor.
“It was with great pride that Albion Elementary welcomed the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia to our school district,” said Albion principal Lisa Lawrance. “Her Honour spoke to the school during an assembly as part of the Canada 150 Celebrations. It was a rare honour and a day that we will not soon forget!”
