SD42 students win provincial skills competition

Congratulations to SD42 students Jayda Long and Teanne Clements, who won silver and gold respectively in hairdressing at the Provincial Skills Canada British Columbia Competition held in Abbotsford on April 13.

The 22nd annual competition featured more than 600 students from across the province competing in trades and technology contests.

Skills BC hosts 13 regional and one provincial competition each year.

SD42 offers variety of trades programs at its schools, including the Hairstyling Cosmetology Academy at Samuel Roberts Technical Secondary, which is a partnership between VCC and the school district.
