A new daycare will open at Webster’s Corners Elementary in September 2019.
“We’re are thrilled to be adding this daycare space. We have many families with young children in our school community who will really benefit from having a daycare option available at our school,” said Ramin Mehrassa, principal of Webster’s Corners.
Maple Ridge-based Little Willows Early Learning Childcare Centre will operate the daycare, which will provide morning and afternoon preschool classes for children 3 to 4 years old, as well as before- and after-school care.
Little Willows will also run daycares at Alouette and Harry Hooge elementary schools starting in September 2019.
“Our Little Willows family is ecstatic to be growing with School District No. 42 and offering quality preschool and out-of-school care programs to Alouette, Harry Hooge and Webster’s Corner elementary schools,” said Reaghan Gasparre, owner of Little Willows.
“We are grateful to be a part of a beautiful community and city that offers many opportunities for children and families.”
Gasparre said the daycare a Webster’s Corners will open its doors in September and students enrolled at Webster’s and their siblings will be given registration priority.
Little Willows has several childcare centres in Maple Ridge and Mission and follows the Reggio Emilia approach to preschool and primary education with programming that revolves around the interest and imagination of each child.
Mehrassa said having the daycare on the school grounds will help to smooth the kindergarten transition for young students.
“Preschool allows the children to adjust to the school community before entering kindergarten. It makes for a smooth transition because they will be used to the school setting.”
