The KC Kids Choir will be singing, alongside Rick Scott, an award winning musician and performer and Goodwill Ambassador for the Down Syndrome Research Foundation on March 23, at The ACT Theatre.

The group has been practicing all term, said Kanaka Creek Elementary school teacher and choir director Dawn Flanagan, and will be singing 15 songs with the singer.

One particular song being sung on Monday, Angel’s Do, was written by Scott about his grand daughter with Down Syndrome – a song quite fitting for the performance as National Down Syndrome Awareness Day is two days earlier, on March 21.

Seven-year-old Brooklyn Tetzlaff, a member of the choir and student at Kanaka Creek, told her mom that “the song would be a surprise,” but that it’s about angels.
