Spring break message from Superintendent Teresa Downs

March 14, 2024 11:00 AM

Dear families,

It has been nearly three weeks since I stepped into the role of Superintendent of Schools for the Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows School District. During this time, I have had the privilege of visiting our schools and meeting the students, staff and families who make up our community. I have seen firsthand the care with which staff across the district support students and their learning and I am so appreciative to be part of this great team.

Our district’s mission is to support all individuals in their development as successful learners and as respectful, caring and responsible members of society. Our vision is for every individual to feel valued and for all learners to reach their potential. Since I began my new role on February 26, I have seen these values reflected everywhere I look: in schools, in classrooms, in hallways, in discussions about the future, and in the recently released 2022/23 completion rates.
